The Boiardi Foundation has distributed NEARLY $400,000 to advance our mission:

"Providing Opportunities to Future Leaders"

A note about Fiscal Year 2019-2020 grants and COVID-19

Due to the novel coronavirus, the Boiardi Foundation cancelled all summer program sponsorships for 2020. This decision was made after months of consultation with our partners. The funds already allocated to these programs were redeployed to a combination of existing partners and organizations that were new to us, such as the Capital Area Food Bank in Washington DC, and a newly opened elementary school on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota. We look forward to resuming our usual programs when it is safe to do so. Thank you for your support!

Future leaders engaged in extracurricular programs sponsored by the Boiardi Foundation (Student's name and program name are shown)

In recent years the Boiardi Foundation has worked hard to expand our direct sponsorship of extracurricular activities, which used to be called our summer camp program.  While we still make grants each year to the Family Reading Partnership and Teach for America South Dakota -- two organizations that were were special to George -- much of our growth has supported our sponsorship of individual students seeking new opportunities to learn and grow.

In 2018 we partnered with Wishbone.org to offer these types of opportunities to students living on the Pine Ridge and Rosebud Reservations, where Teach for America South Dakota operates. Four students were selected and completed programs at American University, Fairfield, Fordham, and Emory. In 2019 Wishbone.org ceased operations, but we were able to expand the program in partnership with TFA, providing 100% funding to six students to attend programs at Harvard, Northwestern, and UC Berkeley.

These students have pursued programs in a wide variety of fields spanning leadership, athletics, and academics, and we are proud to have helped them grow into the next generation of leaders.
